Following the approval by the AU-Executive Council of the Livestock Development Strategy for Africa (LIDESA), a technical team from AU-IBAR, Nairobi has assembled at Naivasha, Kenya for a three-day retreat from 18th to 20th March, 2015. The team will deliberate on and draw up a draft LIDESA Road Map.
The objectives of the retreat are to:
- Discuss the 20-year road map on how to actualize the strategy, mobilize resources for it, and coordinate and catalyze the strategy implementation processes.
- Develop a draft action plan framework for all stakeholders
- Develop a draft monitoring and evaluation (results) framework for use in monitoring the implementation of the strategy.
In attendance at the retreat are heads of four units of AU-IBAR, technical representatives from the units, finance and communication officers, and an administrative assistant.
