Framework for Mainstreaming Livestock in the CAADP Pillars
In order to foster focused agricultural development in Africa, the African Union (AU) and NEPAD have launched the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) which has been endorsed by all Heads of State who have agreed to significantly increase the share of national budgets allotted for agriculture and rural development. AU-IBAR has been designated as lead institution for the livestock sub-sector, and was tasked to develop a framework for mainstreaming livestock in the CAADP pillars.
