THE ADDIS ABABA DECLARATION

The International Scientific Council for Trypanosomiasis Research and Control (ISCTRC) on its 28th meeting, from 26th to 30th September, 2005, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,:

Noting with appreciation the progress PATTEC has made since the declaration by African Heads of States and Governments in Lome in the year 2000,

URGES Member Countries and PATTEC Coordination Office to initiate Eradication Campaign Projects against Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis in all the affected 37 African countries by the year 2015 in line with the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases.

LA DECLARATION D'ADDIS ABEBA

Le Conseil Scientifique International pour la Recherche et la Lutte contre les Trypanosomoses (CSIRLT), réuni en sa 28ème réunion du 26 au 30 septembre 2005 à Addis Abeba, Ethiopie,

Notant avec satisfaction les progrès réalisés depuis la Déclaration des Chefs d'Etat et de Gouvernement à Lomé en 2000 ;

EXHORTE les pays membres et le bureau de coordination du Projet PATTEC à lancer les projets de Campagne d'éradication des tsétsé et de la trypanosomose dans tous les 37 pays affectés d'ici l'an 2015 et ce, dans le cadre du Fonds mondial de lutte contre le VIH/SIDA, le paludisme et les autres maladies.
