The month of June was committed to the preparation (technical and logistical) of the regional inception workshops held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Douala, Cameroon and Nairobi, Kenya. The workshops aimed at sharing the Project's objectives and expected outputs, validating the baseline data collected against the Project's logframe, agree on implementation arrangements and developing a year one Project costed workplan. The workshops were attended by experts drawn from governments. Also invited were regional consultants, RECs, international NGOs and projects working in the project areas. During the workshop, the participants shared experiences on implementation mechanisms of natural resources related projects.
- Organization of the first inception Workshop (WAP and Niokolo Complex) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 5th and 6th July 2010. Countries involved were: Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinée, Mali, Niger and Sénégal.
- Organization of the second inception Workshop in Douala, Cameroon on 23rd and 24th July 2010. Countries involved were: Cameroon, Nigeria and Chad.
- Organization of the third inception Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya on 27th and 28th July 2010. Countries involved were: Kenya, Uganda and Sudan.
