Dr. Boussini has an MSc. in Animal Biotechnology and a Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences and medicine. He has 16 years working experience in animal health and food security, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology and laboratory diagnosis. He also has expertise in wildlife capture, translocation, treatment and sanitary follow-up and disease surveillance, emergency intervention strategies in zoo sanitary situation, sanitary risk analysis and management, veterinary legislation and regulations, epidemiology and epidemio-surveillance, livestock-wildlife-environment interface, training and project management. Prior to joining AU-IBAR, he was the Head of the Epidemio-surveillance program, coordinating the Network of epidemiological surveillance on animal diseases, including national veterinary wildlife epidemiologist. He was also the National Coordinator of the Pan-African Program Control of Epizootics (PACE) and the Regional Director for Animal Resources, Head of virology unit for the National Veterinary Laboratory for diagnosis and research. Dr. Boussini was in charge of national coordination for High Pathogenic Avian Influenza epidemiological surveillance and diagnosis and also coordinated the national epidemiological map updating in Burkina Faso. His functions and activities at AU-IBAR include assisting in co-coordinating activities in AU-Member States, regional groups, inter-governmental and international organizations in animal health including control of epizootics, the control of trans-boundary diseases in member states, and collecting, collating and disseminating information on all aspects of animal health in Africa.
