The Republic of Senegal is hosting the 4th continental WAAW Africa campaign (18-24 November 2022), which began today, the 18th of November 2022. The organising partners consist of the members of the Africa quadripartite (FAO, WOAH, WHO, and UNEP) and the Africa Union (Africa Centre for Disease Control - Africa CDC; and the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources - AU-IBAR). This event is being held in accordance with its theme: "Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together in Africa."

The proliferation of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is making it more difficult to treat infections by nullifying the gains made possible by antibiotics. While many of the WAAW Africa Campaign events are being hosted in Senegal, the Africa quadripartite extends an invitation for your participation in the campaign's online activities as well.
