In July 2018 the continental Chapter of the African Women in Animal Resources Farming and Agribusiness Network (AWARFA-N) was established as the Apex Pan-African Network to promote transformation and greater investment in women led animal resources farming and agribusiness.
AWARFA-N Eastern Africa, under the leadership of its interim President Agnes Kirabo, is planning to launch its regional Chapter on 27th November 2020 from13.00 to 16.00 hours East African Standard Time.
The E-Conference will include the following:
- Institutionalization of the Network: Presentation and Adoption of the Regional Statutes and the Three
Year Strategy and Business Plan (2021 – 2023); and Presentation of Country Reports and One Year
- A Panel: ‘Financing Packages to Grow and Strengthen Competitive Capacity of Women in Animal Resources
Farming and Agribusiness Enterprises’. Panellists are drawn from the Islamic Development Bank, Bank of
Uganda, the National Bank of Kenya, and Kenya Dairy Board, with AWARFA-N Members from Sudan,
Somaliland, and Uganda.
- Launch of AWARFA-N EA as a regional agribusiness, marketing and trade cooperation mechanism
among Women in Animal Resources, Farming and Agribusinesses; Launch of the AWARFA-N Newsletter
and Community of Practice and the official launch of the AWARFA-N Logo, and Launch.
