The Limbe Nautical Arts and Fisheries Institute (LINAFI) is a recognized AU Centre of Excellence. Established by Decree No. 2015/374 on August 12, 2015, LINAFI stands as a distinguished public institution of higher education, characterized by its professional and technical focus, endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. Supervised by the Ministry responsible for fisheries, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Finance, LINAFI ensures comprehensive oversight to uphold industry standards, academic integrity, and financial stewardship.

(LINAFI) offers two main types of training: continuing education and initial training. In the realm of initial training, we provide courses in a range of specialized fields:

  1. Fishing: covering the fundamentals of fishing unit operation, maritime navigation, ship fitting, and fishing techniques.
  2. Marine Mechanics: focusing on machinery operation, driving skills, and maintenance of fishing and nautical equipment.
  3. Fishing Technology: delving into fishing techniques, gear, quality control, and fishing industry processes.
  4. Fisheries Management: addressing the administration and strategic management of fisheries sectors.
  5. Aquaculture: exploring the development of reproductive and feeding techniques for fish.

Continuing education encompasses various specializations and short-term training programs tailored to meet evolving industry needs.

Admission to LINAFI's programs requires candidates to participate in an annual competition for first-year entry. Eligibility extends to holders of Advanced Level ECG in two scientific disciplines, BAC C, D, E, and F, or equivalent diplomas issued by the Ministry responsible for education. Foreign candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
