The Second Biennial Forum for Regular Consultations on Monitoring Compliance on Domestication of Global and Continental Instruments within the Framework of African Fisheries Reform Mechanism (AFRM)

The African Fisheries Reform Mechanism (AFRM) was established as an AU-led regional partnership
platform designed to enhance coordination, coherence, and governance reforms in the fisheries and
aquaculture sectors across Africa. Its primary objective is to facilitate the development, adoption, and
implementation of governance and management reforms that will transform Africa’s fisheries from
overexploitation and overcapitalization toward environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
