The operations of the Somali PACE Component were governed by the overall PACE objectiveaimed at relieving the poverty of those involved in the livestock-farming sector (producers, serviceproviders and consumers) in Africa by improving animal productivity, trade and food security. InSomalia, this entails strengthening of the capacities of livestock owners, traders, public institutionsand private sector animal health workers to cooperate for effective delivery of services to improveanimal health in order to enhance trade in livestock and livestock products.
