The overral goal of this engagement is to secure a multi‑stakeholder consensus on what, who and how of pastoral data harmonisation in Kenya, laying the groundwork for comprehensive standards and future technical integrations.

Specific objectives of the workshop: 

  • Co-develop outlines for technical document(s) on data harmonization to be developed.
  • Agree on a version 0.1 Core Data-Element List, Common Lexicon, and/or Minimal Metadata Template.
  • Draft a 2025‑28 Pastoral Livestock Data Harmonisation in Kenya roadmap
  • Formalize a small task force to start realizing data harmonization within one year

The expected outcomes of the consultative workshop will be:

  • Guideline outline– agreed table of contents that the consultant will develop.
  • 2025-2028 Roadmap for data harmonization and integrations in Kenya – timeline of milestones, and lead agencies.
  • Taskforce ToR & Roster – signed mandate, named members, and first-year work plan.
  • Capacity & Quick-Wins List – top skill gaps and actions that can be completed within 12 months.
  • Communiqué – two-page statement of commitment, signed by all participating agencies.

The workshop will draw participation from representatives of Government (SDLD, NDMA, KMD, AniTrack.) County cordination reps (FCDC), RECs (IGAD/ICPALD), Research and Academia (ILRI, KALRO), private sector actors (KEMLEIC), Development Partner (FAO, RCMRD)
