@AUIBAR2024 Digital Learning Hub Participants

A team of technical experts drawn from academia, research institutions, One Health Sector ministries and private sector convened in Naivasha, Kenya from 9-12th December 2024 to develop a digital One Health learning hub that will support African stakeholders to enhance their knowledge, skills and competencies in digital One Health.

The digi-learning hub is being developed under the framework of the African Union One Health Data Alliance Africa (AU-OHDAA) project, whose primary objective is to improve digital One Health governance and management in Africa. Through the AU-OHDAA project, with technical support from GIZ and financial backing from BMZ, a continental African Union Digital One Health Platform (AU-DOHP) has been developed following the endorsement by African Heads of State of the African Union One Health Information Policy and the associated African Union One Health Information Architecture.

The AU-DOHP is grounded on four building blocks including a domain-oriented decentralized data ownership architecture; Data as a product; self-serve data infrastructure and federated Governance. The AU-DOHP features three main modules namely the Data integration and analytics sphere; Digi-learning hub and the Decision situation room.   The digi-learning hub aims to equip the continental, regional, and national stakeholders with knowledge, skills and competencies in digital One Health. Building of robust human expertise on digital one health is critical for improved data integration and sharing which will contribute to the efficient operationalization of continental, regional and national One Health digital platforms.
