Accelerating PPR Eradication in West Africa – Stakeholder Dialogue on Cross-border Strategies, Lessons Learned, and SPS Compliance

The meeting seeks to enhance stakeholder engagement and ownership in the eradication of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in West Africa by raising awareness of the Pan-African Programme and its strategic benefits. It will provide a platform to promote understanding of the programmer’s objectives, particularly the importance of sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) standards in improving livestock trade and market access. Additionally, the meeting will draw on lessons learned from previous cross-border vaccination campaigns to review and update operational tools, coordination mechanisms, and technical approaches for more effective PPR control in transboundary areas.
