Outcomes

The key aspects addressed include:

Evidence Generation for Capacity Development and Disease Risk Management: The initiative conducts research and generates evidence to inform capacity-building efforts and disease risk management strategies. This includes collecting data on disease prevalence, trade patterns, and regulatory frameworks to identify areas for improvement and targeted interventions.

Harmonization of SPS Processes for Trade Facilitation: SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary) processes are harmonized to streamline trade in animals and animal products. This involves aligning regulations, standards, and inspection procedures across participating countries to reduce barriers to trade and ensure consistency in food safety and animal health measures.

Development of Core Competencies for Evidence-Based SPS Measures: Core competencies are developed to empower stakeholders involved in the design and implementation of SPS measures. Training programs and capacity-building initiatives are tailored to equip professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop evidence-based strategies for managing disease risks and facilitating trade.
