Overview

Stellenbosch University’s Division of Aquaculture is based within the Faculty of AgriSciences and supports education, research and industry services for aquaculture development in South Africa and the wider Southern African region. Its work covers areas such as freshwater and marine aquaculture systems, aquaculture nutrition, breeding, fish health, water quality management, production systems, processing and product development. Through degree programmes, postgraduate research and short-course training, the Division contributes to skilled human capacity, innovation and sustainable aquaculture production for food security, livelihoods and blue economy development.
