African Animal Genetic Resources Information System (AAGRIS)

African Animal Genetic Resources Information System (AAGRIS) AAGRIS is an important platform for the administration and dissemination of information on animal genetic resources throughout Africa. This effort seeks to protect and improve the genetic variety of Africa's livestock populations while also supporting sustainable breeding techniques and livestock development plans. AAGRIS supports data collecting, analysis, and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, thereby promoting informed decision-making and collaborative efforts to conserve and utilise Africa's abundant animal genetic resources. Through AAGRIS, AU-IBAR plays an important role in developing animal agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and food security programmes across the continent.
